Hills occurred by a volcanic eruption, lies in historical city Champaner, Panchmahal district, besides east of Vadodara and south of Godhra. The whole hill range is covered by dense forests, Rhyolite boulders and natural caves. Devotion and Daring both can be witnessed here. The Kalikamata Temple and Jain temples have the higher flow of devotees and the other hill ranges are popular with adventure enthusiasts. Kalika Mata Temple

The Pavagadh Hill is well known for the Kalika Mata Temple, the holiest place in the Indian subcontinent. The Kalika Mata Temple is situated at the top of almost 800 metres, with just around 250 stairs. Tourists can use a rope-way system set up by the tourism sector. Maa Mahakalika Udan Khotala – A Ropeway is operating and take you hastily and easefully from Manchi to the hilltop.

Raval Palace

The remains of the Raval Palace still stand at Manchi. The rest houses, hotels and holiday homes which provide stay at this magnificent place. There are countless tales and songs knitting the story of King Patai Raval, ruler of Champaner.

Navlakhi Valley

The highest peak from the north of the Pavagadh hill, the valley of the huge extent of Mouliatuk is known as the Navlakhi Valley. The ancient architecture, named after the Navlakha Kothar, offers an overview of Mughal tectonics. The T-shaped structure made up of bricks, including seven parts covered by large dome, resides on the edge of the Navlakhi Valley, is believed to be used as a storehouse for the food storage in prehistoric times.

Seven Arches

From the Atak door to the Boodhiya gates, there are farsighted edifices in the highest hill range in the span of the citadel. The building, named Seven Arches, is made of cleaner stones. The seven arches designed in a form of a large tent, the rulers were used to hold the secret meetings. The royal family is believed to use the place for fun and promotions.

Teliya Talav and Dudhia Talav

Teliya Talav and Dudhia Talav are the places knitted in the plenty of religious tales. A beautiful garden located at the footstep of Pavagadh named “Virasat Van”.

There are some groups who arrange adventure camps to the hills. Trekking to the top of the hills from the dense forest and witnessing the magnificent cascades, splash of rain with the breathtaking view is the most joyous moments of the trip. While trekking you can feel the nature from the close, various plants, flowers, butterflies and harmless creatures can be seen. A few travel agencies offer the night stay in the tent with a campfire and basic facilities.

The best time to visit the place is Winter and Monsoon. Foggy early morning in the cold and lush greenery in the Monsoon is the perfect time to be there.
